Get Bigger Calf Muscles Through the Help of These Various Exercises

Calf muscles or scientifically termed as gastrocnemius are hard to tone because of the large muscle mass. Getting bigger calves is not only aesthetically pleasing especially for men, but it also helps in making you stronger.

One of the reasons why a lot of people would fail to make their calf muscles bigger is because they don't train harder. Keep in mind that these group of muscles are the largest muscles in the body but they also handle the body weight while you are running, walking, standing, and doing other physical activities. Hence, these muscle groups are exposed to a lot of stimulation and can only respond to tougher workouts.

If you are training your calves for only ten minutes then don't expect to gain muscle mass. For those who have skinny gastrocnemius, you will need to work them out for at least thirty minutes every day on a regular basis. The results would usually be apparent for several months.

You can try the one leg calf raise in order to get bigger muscles. This is suitable for those who don't have evenly toned legs or if your leg is slightly shorter than the other. This is quite simple because all you have to do is to raise your leg for a couple of minutes.

Another exercise would be the seated calf raise. You can use a seated calf raise machine to help you in this exercise. Doing this exercise is quite simple especially if you have the calf raise machine. However, if you don't have the raise calf machine, you can also still try the one leg raise.

In order to effectively increase your calf muscles, you need to do these exercises using super heavy weights. Make sure that the weights that you are using are heavier than those that you are usually using. By increasing the weights, you'd be able to make the muscles in your calf much bigger than what you have.
